Toddlers surprised me -- I thought we'd get them eventually but I didn't expect them to be so cute. B) And the amount of gear we got for them was almost the equivalent of an SP for free. I also like how they went back and programmed a lot of the existing children's stuff to be useable by toddlers, like the toy box and dollhouse.
I was surprised by DU, mainly with the ability to attend college without having to move into the dorms. You can have a Sim commute to campus just like any rabbit hole school or job, so you're not ignoring your other family to concentrate on that one college student.
And Seasons I really felt that it focused more on family celebrations, unlike Sims 3 which were all about the community festivals. I like that aspect of the pack.
