- Thank you all! I appreciate this information so much <3
- Cats and dogs.
I'd probably recommend GTW if you already have all the other EPs and GPs XD
It really is the least fun and the careers are only fun every now and again. "fullspiral;c-16153948" wrote:
Tough choice. Unlike many, I don't mind GTW. I Love the scientist career. And aliens. And Sixam. Don't know if I could see my game without it. It adds retail too.
I haven't played with C&D yet to say what it adds.
I agree with you, I actually like GTW. I think you should get it :)- I know this wasn't listed but, Get Together is also a great buy! Clubs are a cool addition and the CAS stuff is really cool, IMO. The world is really pretty, too.
- Get to Work.
Why: Your sim can get sick and take medicine, doctors that are high in their field can tell the gender of a baby in the womb, sims in labor can go to the hospital to have their baby, scientists can make a ray gun that commands sims including the option to clean, being able to build a portal to go to the hidden lot Sixam where you can find rare collectibles, and the detective career has lots of detail and things to do like gather clues, analyze clues, research on the computer, process those who have been arrested, and you can even be a dirty cop. I always play the detective and doctor careers because there is a bit of guess work based on clues and symptoms, and I find it enjoyable and challenging.
While Cats & Dogs has some great AI and the vet career, it somehow seems a bit empty and this is gameplay we've seen before in previous Sims games. It's exactly what the title says, you get cats, you get dogs, and nothing else. I was impressed at how cats could jump on top of the fridge, and the reinforcement of behaviors you want your pet to have (such as not clawing the couch). If you're a hard core dog and cat lover, this pack for you, but again, no birds, no lizards, no hamsters or guinea pigs. It would have been cool to take your iguana or parrot to the vet as well, or at least be able to have a terrarium for turtles and frogs. Also Cats & Dogs have higher minimum requirements, so if you're only running on 4gbs of ram, your game will crash quite regularly, especially in populated lots. I had to disable C&D for this reason. I played a good bit before I got tired of the crashing, and will just have to wait until I get a new pc to play it again. That's how much I don't care if I have this pack or not.
Edit: Spelling - I'd say Get To Work, I think it's a must for a vanilla game, something like Base Game Part 2. Also, no one ever talks about Spa Day, but that's one of my favorite packs, with my favorite objects and build items, a lot of cool activities like yoga, meditation, insenses (very useful), scented baths, sauna, magazines. It doesn't have a world, though.
- The ones I want most are toddlers, city living, cats and dogs, and the spa one! I bought the career and camping ones in a bundle. 2 for the price of one! That's what usually influences my decision.

Between those two I would definitely choose Cats and Dogs. The vet career is a lot better than the 3 careers that come with Get to Work, but that is just my opinion :)
really you like the vet career more.
I find it too easy.
I still like it, but wish they made it a little harder"KiaPink;d-929219" wrote:
I currently have no expansion packs and really want one. I'm not able to get both right now, my two choices are Get to Work and Cats and Dogs. Which one should I get? :/
it depends on you.
do you like
cats&dogs and a vet career.
active careers and retail.
living in a city with festivals.
seasonal family events and weather in seasons.
a variety of social clubs and activities in get together.
