My point is that consumable ingredients are only ever a part of the cost of producing a product. There are many costs in selling a product, just because none of them are physically consumable doesn’t mean that distributing and supporting a product that’s already made is cheap.
@Childrenofhurin It does mean it's cheaper than a physical product because these costs are non-existent. It's not just the ingredients, it's also the time of production which in a digital game is instant and the delivery costs and time which in a digital game are free and instant as well.
This is why you can't compare physical products with digital copies of products like many people attempted. They are just two completely different things.
I’m not saying it isn’t cheaper. It is cheaper. I’m saying the costs aren’t zero like you claimed earlier.
As for there being no ground for objective comparison, you’re right. That doesn’t mean that people cannot make comparisons based on perceived value, like others have done here. - wehaveobsessions5 years agoNew Spectator@telmarina I have a family of 3 Sims and their in-laws came over to visit and I swear they made the place filthier!! ?
- SheriSim5 years agoSeasoned AceI haven’t voted yet, didn’t know they were on sale already. I plan to get all 3 though. They are priced at what I thought they would be.

None. IMHO they are overpriced.
This. I was about to post the same thought. - blueybluesky5 years agoSeasoned AceHad no idea they had come out already till I saw everyone's screenshots. They are $7.95AUS here, so while I'd love to get them all I think I'll only be getting the Bust the Dust kit. But in saying that I'll probably end up with all three if I look at to many screenshots :D
- CAPTAIN_NXR75 years agoLegendI haven’t bought any of them yet but I can see myself adding them all to my game at some point in the future.
The price doesn’t bother me personally, it may have in the past when I had to reconsider every penny in my wallet about 10 times before buying even the most basic stuff, such as a couple of breadcrumbs. Indeed, the price of breadcrumbs used to make me cry.
I completely understand why folks think some or all of these kits are overpriced, especially those who may not find the kits will add much to their personal play style. Perhaps there will be a Kit, an SP, GP or EP in the future that will add to that enjoyment.
This is the entertainment industry and entertainment doesn’t come cheap. It is a luxury. It is unfortunate that we have to regard it as a luxury since entertainment is essential to our mental well-being. Companies use it to make money. It is the way and it’s not going to change unless we all protest, but not everybody has the energy for that. After a hard day’s work we just want to be entertained.
I’m willing to selfishly pay the price, the full price, because I know how much enjoyment I can get out of certain elements. I know that enjoyment will last for a long time. It’s my personal user experience. I have no interest in creating my own CC, even though I have the skill set to do so. It’s not an option. I don’t want to spend time doing it, so I spend my money instead.
I can spend it on supporting a cc creator, or I can spend it on official DLC if I like what I’m seeing. If I don’t like it, I’ll skip it and I’ll move on. To me it doesn’t make any difference, I’m that selfish.
I could’ve been in the pub instead. At least a bunch of kits don’t give me a hangover.
ETA: I just realized that my comment would have been best placed in another thread, but it doesn’t matter now. ? - I bought all three, and I'm happy with my purchase.
- I just wanted to say, after reading all the positive comments about it and watching the livestream, I ended up buying Dust the Bust as well. It was something I wasn't going to buy but it really does appear to add the most gameplay of the three.

I'd love to see an official breakdown of how well each pack sold on day 1. I'd guess Bust the Dust was the winner, followed by Country Kitchen, and then Throwback Fit.
On twitter polls I've seen the country kitchen seems more popular (bust the dust being second). Really curious which one "won" :D
