My sims oftentimes go to bars or restaurants (dates, invitations). Sims with children often visit parks, because i like small lots and can't and therefore almost never have a big garden. YA and teens go to the discotheque on weekends or visit the Bluffs/Ruins in Windenburg.
My posh sims are regulars at the spa to spend their money. I almost never go to libraries, but my artsy sims go to the art galleries to paint (I always leave room for their own paintings and throw parties as "vernissages"). Then there are the typical wedding spots (Manor in Windenburg, Club Calico, etc)
Oh, and the typical Gym visit to meet hot guys (like Don)
