Which one of the following do you want in a future update or patch?

  • The first thing I did with a new save in both Sims 2 and Sims 3 was to create a completely blank neighborhood, which I would then fill up with lots and sims over the course of hundreds if not thousands of hours (Sims 2 was in the days before Steam/Origin tracking but I had a neighborhood running continuously on the same computer for over four years so it was easily over 1,000 hours and probably over 2,000 across many, many extended gaming weekends. Sims 3, I have 252.1 hours in according to Steam, and Origin says I've got 875 in Sims 4.)

It made it all the more satisfying to see those fully built-out areas full of lots and Sims. Every residential lot I built myself; every community lot/venue I either built myself or got via relevant game assets (the town square and various pack-based lots in 3, for example, and the same has been true for venues in 4.)

My simworld in 4 definitely has a LOT more customization than the game implies it wants you to engage in when it ships with so much premade stuff (thanks to killing off premade sims and a whole lotta bulldozing to free up that oh-so-precious real estate), but it's nowhere near the amount that was in the glory days.

I'd consider starting a whole new save (undoing well over 600 hours of work since February of 2020 on this PC; the rest of the playtime was on my old laptop) if I had a true tabula rasa to rebuild from in 4.

Also spiral stairs and treehouses for the kiddos. I miss those from TS3.
