Which platform do you play the Sims 4 on?

Definitely PC. I play on both types, desktop and laptop. I use a flash drive to transfer my game between them.

I recently bought a Lenovo Legion gaming laptop and got back in to the game for the first time since 2018. Back then i only had Get to Work, City Living and Cool Kitchen Stuff installed on my old laptop. My old Dell Inspiron started shutting down during gameplay so i gave up on PC gaming for a while.

I tried playing the Sims 4 on my XBox One recently but trying to build a house on console i found a bit tedious because you have to click out of everything. On PC its much easier to use a mouse and drag the cursor around.

Yeah, PC all the way. I have a PS4 and play any other games on that. The Sims is the only game that I play on PC because I like to have some cc and mods. I find it a more comfortable way to play it as well because of the way it's played, selecting things and whatnot. I find that easier to do with a mouse.

I will always play the Sims on PC. o:)

Console works if you like the game for what it is. It's the other issues that will keep from buying another Sims game on any other platform but PC again.

Never thought I would be a console Sims player but my laptop 3 years ago wasn't good for gaming. Much to my surprise I actually like playing on ps4(when it's working correctly). It took about a year for me to get comfy with the controls, to where I actually prefer them over a keyboard when I'm lounging on my sofa. Building is better with a keyboard though. So vanilla works for me because I didn't feel like messing around with mods/cc, updating and all that when getting back into simming. I barely used mods with older sims games, mainly cc.

That being said I won't ever buy into another Sims franchise like The Sims 5 for PS5 because console players don't receive the same level of a priority when it comes to fixes. The blotchy patchy skin tones/blushes are horrendous, lack of afro textured facial hair/hairstyles is ridiculous for the times, the lag, crashing that took over a year to fix...we were sitting ducks without even a word they were working on it. Instead they had players spinning their wheels "troubleshooting" when it was a memory issue on their end.

Even with the game, as basic as it is, it's still fun for me on ps4. It's just the sheer amount of issues I've encountered and feeling like a sitting duck on console that has put a damper on my consumer confidence on this platform. Now I want the availability to use mods if I need them. The only reason I'm still buying packs after DU is because I read the PS5 would have an SSD. I figured that would salvage the game after buying a majority of the packs in one sale.

I have the base game on my computer.
Since it can't handle it with both the Sims 2, Sims 3, and Sims 4 base game for long periods of time, I have play Sims 4 mostly on PS4.
Except for a few snags with the controllers, it is nice being to play it on a bigger screen, however, I am unable to use mods or cc like the PC version.

This is the usual feeling for not-experienced gamers, but you need to understand keyboard and a mouse are a million times better than any controller (gamepad, joystick, whatever) in terms of ergonomy, responsiveness, and other things.

Most people who grown up playing both pcs and consoles end up always being a pc gamer. And i can tell you that ive been playing consoles and pcs since more than twenty years ago (probably way more but im too embarrased to say it LOL), and i dont change keyboard+mouse for anything. In a million years. Controllers are just way too limited in terms of control (ironically) but specifically response.

I sometimes play the console when im with friends because the pc is in my bedroom and its small, but otherwise, PC always.

The sims 4, playing it on a console, honestly i didnt try, but ima not going to.....

I considered myself to be an avid gamer, playing life simulators like Sims and Stardew Valley to Soulsborne genre. Been gaming for around 20 years, gone to Pax East 3 times. I play Sims on both PC and PS4, I do use M&K for both since I find building to be easier. My gaming pc is rather big and I have a carry case for my console so I can take it when visiting my parents. Also PS4 has some great exclusives like Bloodborne.

While M&K is to me best for the Sims there are some games that play better with controller such as Dark Souls, Witcher 3 and anything involving melee combat or sword fighting. I tend to get controllers that have the back paddles which are helpful. I switch back and forth, Far Cry 5 felt better on M&K but with the Division games I prefer controller, left strafing to shoot was comfortable.

On the Cyberpunk 2077 forum most of the members were playing with a controller versus M&K, wanting to kick back and relax since it was single player and not competitive. FPS with multiplayer then yes usually M&K will give you an advantage. However with aim assist there was a controversy with Fortnite players using controllers in competitions. It is not so cut and dried.

I’ve played on both laptop and MacBook but I’m currently back on my gaming laptop.
