Which Sims Expansion Pack Really Wasn't Worth It

I don't have Discover University or Island Living, so I can't speak to those, but Get Famous -the idea of adding celebrities into the game -was an idea I was really excited about including, but it fell a bit flat of what I wanted.

• There were no bands or music-related fame. There's a mixing table and you can get "record deals". Which, the music mixing table isn't all that fun to watch or use, and the 'record deals' is just playing phone tag with pop-up menus, so I don't really count it.
  
• The actor career has its moments, but gets repetitive quickly.
  
• The process of actually getting famous is more troublesome and annoying than endearing. There are things I like about the perk-level up menu, but most of the enjoyable perks come via a skilltree which forces you to select every one in the line below it, which some of those perks can be exceptionally annoying to deal with and are more hindrances than rewards (like the celebrity potions)
  
• Perma-glitching into the celebrity slow-walk made the game nearly unplayable. *This issue may have been fixed by now. I'm too afraid to let my sims get to max celeb again to find out. :grimace:
  
• I like the 'idea' of gaining random fame quirks, but some are just downright unpleasant to end up with.
  
• The Build/Buy mode is hit or miss. I know they were intentionally made as "over the top", but it's difficult to find any practical use for many of the items, so it ultimately felt like a waste of money in that department.
  

It wasn't all bad. I thought the paparazzi behaved much like I'd expect and want them to. The streaming drones were fun and becoming famous via online-celebrity was a nice touch. I don't think it was awful, but nor was it my favorite. If you were buying them all, I'd suggest it only on a discount.
