Which way is the way to the beach?

Just wondering about the purpose of this interaction? I only encountered it in Desert Bloom, Oasis Springs. And when I select it, the other sim points to a location (I think they point to a random/different direction each time). I also noticed that you can't ask this to every sim on the lot, this interaction was only available on 2 sims. Maybe they have to be locals; In my game Wolfgang lives in Oasis Springs.
I don't think this is the result of a mod, I don't use slice of life or any mod like that which adds gameplay to TS4, I just use MCCC. Does anybody know what this is for? Did you even see this in your games? :/
