Wasn't it said prior to launch that death would be a lot harder to achieve for our sims? Like the percentages were lowered because death was more common in the past?
A quote from a pre-release interview

"Speaking of which, EA have changed their philosophy on death for Sims 4. They realized that some things in previous games made death almost not fair and as funny as it was to die by having a satellite land on you from above, it just wasn't right. In Sims 4, death will only ever be a result of your actions, or age, and before a Sim does die from your actions, there will be plenty of warning signs before the event occurs! One thing for sure though; depressed Sims will not commit suicide! EA had no desire to 'gamify' tragic events."

Risky events just don't happen in the game, its all rainbows and sparkles cause nothing bad ever happens with your sims or in your sims lives. That's why I'm hoping someday sims will get out of the teen rating and go for more of a mature, darker feel yet still have its silly sim humor. I want funny, strange, sad, happy, and surprising moments in the game..not the sim version of Candyland.
I don't necessarily think that the rating needs to be raised. If you look back in the history of the game it has had a darker, more satirical side to it that's slowly been stripped away to become the unicorns who toot rainbows out of their butts game it is now.
