I've recently got mods for Sims 3 because of how incredibly buggy that game is, they helped a bit, still get frequent lag spikes/stuttering, but anything helps at this point.
I once played with the MCCC mod for sims 4, I thought it was a really useful tool to manipulate the game world easily, but the story progression messed everything up, I had random generated townies living in homes that I wanted to use, sims had multiple children with multiple other sims while married to someone else, it just generated a lot of unnecessary "story progression," so I got rid of it.
I also don't use CC in any game I've played before, in sims 3 I didn't know how to get CC, but in sims 4 most CC doesn't match the art style, so I just stick to the packs for new content.
