Why are infants and toddlers nearly impossible to take care of?

I don't think it's that hard - what annoys is when I've queued up an action and the autonomous system just overrides it. Just let me do it for crying out loud! I get that the game wants to auto take care of infants, but please don't override my own way of playing, it's super obnoxious and makes everything take 100 times longer. If I've queued up everything needed to take care of the infant, the game doesn't recognize it, and decides to 'do it for me'. Ugh.
