Why are infants and toddlers nearly impossible to take care of?

I find infants and toddlers difficult to enjoy to play with because they are too annoying, everytime an infant or toddler Sim cries for attention the adult Sims have to cancel literally everything els...

I usually get the diaper blowout milestone and sleep through the night milestone and then just cheat and turn off needs for everyone. I can only handle so much of it before it drives me batty.
