There are many reasons why.
There are some players who want the game to be perfect for them.
Then there are players who have childhood traumas that want all the glitches and features that remind their hard childhood gone from the game to be gone. Even I admit that I had a father that sometimes attacked me, so I'm glad that adults being able to attack children isn't a feature.
Some players are also going through a mourning. Either by the loss of the loved one or pet. Nobody likes to see a glitch that kills the pet in game after losing a pet in real life. The game is something that is supposed to help to escape the reality, not remind them.
Some players just invest so much time in their sims that what happens to the pixel-people affects the player. Almost every player had at least some sims who they didn't want to lose, and some do finally let the sim go. It's how the life works.
People are different. For some, worrying and complaining about the game is caring, while to others, loving and praising the game is caring. The only thing you can do here is to let them be.
