Why are many sims 4 players so sensitive?

Whenever I (accidentally) stumble upon a post where the person writes 10 paragraphs about some type of glitch, I scroll to the top and realize that it's yet another sims 4 player crying. I once found a ridiculous thread where a person was actually having some emotional breakdown because their pet cat was "dying" from an illness, they began to panic and just exit out of the game. There is some child abuse thread on here as well where the person shamed EA for promoting child abuse and saying that all of their children were being abused because of that glitch where the adult asks the child out for a date or some other type of activity. And apparently Sims 4 removed burglars because it triggered some people? And, and, and!

Really these are only pixels, it's all fantasy. Sims are not real. It's honestly just a game and if it's causing people to have a really strong emotional reaction then they should really just take a break for a long time and go outside a bit. Real life is much more harder and most definitely real than a video game, I cannot imagine how these type of people must deal with real-life situations if all it takes is a sim with a glitched arm to trigger a panic attack. We have gotten to the point where simply clicking "cancel" is not enough, players are removing saves, games, and so on just because of those type of experiences. It really shouldn't be this serious.

Call my opinion biased because I'm a Sims 3 player and actually hang in the Sims 3 forum, I know I'm prone to be attacked for this. But seeing how the neighbors across the street here on the Sims 4 forums are doing is not that good...either revert to playing the Sims (1) or get yourselves together!

Happy simming

    Hmm...
According to the Forum Dos and Don'ts, you'll have to keep the thread game related and rudeness in not allowed.
From the thread Forum Dos and Don'ts
    From Dos
Keep it game-related. We’re not here to debate real-world politics or religion, so keep the conversation about our games.
Be polite and kind. Respect others even if they have a different opinion. If you disagree with someone, you are free to do so politely, but please don't make it personal. Respect also means you never harass, embarrass, or threaten other players.

    From Don'ts
Be rude. No matter what your feelings are about other people, the EA Forums aren’t the place to attack another person. That includes public figures, EA employees, or other forum users.
Flame. Flaming is intentionally posting hurtful, insulting, or harassing messages to or about other people.

That's why this thread will get closed soon...
Please be careful what you post next time, ok? Otherwise you might get banned and you can't post things about The Sims 3 anymore. It is better to be safe than sorry after all.
  • Yes, I do remember the thread with the woman and the sick cat that was upset cause she thought the cat was dying, even though she was playing with aging off, it upset her. Many reassured her that the pixel cat wasn't dying and just needed a trip to the vet and it was as intended. No reason to state she was some type of mental case.

The child abuse ... normally something to do with CC or an emotion item causing adult sims to get flirty with children nearby.

And I don't recall anyone every saying burglars weren't included because of trauma, most people say burlars were left out due to the rush release of sims4. I have never seen anyone say burlars were left out because people were traumatized from the burlars in past games.

I would say, quit stirring the pot and be a solution and not a problem.

That was so cringy when I read it. I remember that thread...

Still think the OP is just attacking every single simmer with this thread. To start with we are not the same. I agree with sims being way to child like and more like an E/G rated game and not an actual T rated game. But there are ways to say that and this is not the correct one.
  • @Orchid13 Okay Orchid you can report me but I'll just let you know that in my post I did not even come across as "harsh" or swear and I was genuinely asking why is this such a big deal to people. I did not say that sims 4 players are dumb or anything really rude like that, I tried to come across as civil as possible. My post does not have to lead to people fighting but of course many are going to feel somewhat hurt because it's true for them - they will reply harshly. Yet me, who did not even intend for that to happen, get's reported. Makes sense on this fair forum. I have no control if people lose their mind or not.

Already did. It was not written harshly but you are calling every single simmer a cry baby just because there are some people that over react. What’s the need to point out old threads? Which btw a lot of people answered to saying that, that certain simmer was over reacting. This thread is not helpful and just an attack towards other people.
  • Hello all,

Negative opinions are more than just allowed - criticism and feedback is what make the game better!

But it is all about being constructive, calling other players names or making "example" out of threads is in no way constructive.

    This thread is now closed.

    Thank you,
    Mage
