- I don't really torture my sims. I killed a few for story purposes but I'm not worried about it.
You see when you're playing wow and yelling at your screen "die mage, die" when you're actually killing another persons character, a sim death is not even a blimp on the radar haha. - runamoksims9 years agoSeasoned Ace

So let me get this straight. Killing sims makes us sadistic and in need of some kind of saving? Hmm no wonder the devs turned the death rates down the simming community turned into fluffy marshmallows. And they can't die if we take the ladder away ugh that's what made the Sims well the Sims!!! The fun is so gone with this generation.
Yeah, the whole "child friendly" and "Political correct" has done a bad service to this series ever since Thesims3.
It started happening after TS2. Then again I wasn't involved with the TS2 community so maybe it happened then too. After each new death in TS3 there were threads asking for the death to be tweaked. I had been looking forward to things like the Murphy bed or vending machine death and players (seemed to be the same ones most of the time) asked for the deaths to have less of a chance.
The regular deaths were tweaked too. When TS3 was new you could almost count on sending a Sim with 0 handiness to fix a TV and they would get electrocuted. By the time the game was finished, five years later, all that happened was an increased skill level. - I always feel bad for being cruel to my Sims. :'(
- I always used to torture my sims in sims 1.
After that i never really did in 2.
Barely even played 3.
Theres just so much to do and torturing a sim ive put a lot of hours into just isn't going to happen. - Maybe someone doesn't understand the concept of RP. If i'm playing a good sim then I generally won't be causing problems. On the other hand, if i'm playing a sim with traits like evil, mean, hot headed, etc. then other sims will probably be getting hurt and murdered.

Point is, Tone down the game is a bad idea , period.
