Why can't customers JUST SHOP!

I came looking for answers about owning a retail shop, wondering why does it take so long for sims to shop (the same 5 sims in my store for literally 10 sim hours and only 2 sales). I noticed they talk, a lot, and only once every couple of hours will their blue bar increase a tiny bit. Then I saw this discussion. I have to agree 100% that there is just too much socializing going on. Yes, this is an old discussion, but it's not improved after 1 whole year! I know TS4 was created with more social abilities (and so I am trying to expect more socials), however anything fun or interesting to do, such as own a business, run a restaurant, go to work with your sim, or even try to have a yard sale, is often ruined by non-stop group socializing. I keep hoping someone will create a mod for the sole purpose of reducing all the chatterboxes.
