I think the problem with the kitchen cabinets and counters not matching has to do with the shaders they assigned to them. Counters use a counter shader which allows them to remain a consistent color when placed together and not affected too much by lighting (you know how if you place 2 items side by side, one will always appear a slightly different color because of where and how the light is hitting it).
Cabinets don't use the same shader so it makes the cabinets appear a different color.
Applicances also use occluders, which casts a large shadow on the cabinet it's under which also affects the color.
I found this out when I recolored a kitchen and my cabinets were not showing up in the game as having the same color as my counters, even tho I made the textures exactly the same.
I was able to correct my kitchen recolor by changing the cabinet shader to a counter shader and then it matched perfectly.
