Why "disable dust" instead of "disable dust bunnies"

I disabled the bunnies with a mod after the novelty wore off but now I can never tell when my house is dirty. :D

I know there is the check dust level interaction but honestly I’d rather just have visual evidence of the dirt.

@Sharonia But there is. Dustpiles appear. If you hover the mouse over them they can be vacuumed or thrown away. They get dirtier as the house does.

Yeah I know but it's really hard to see on light coloured floors or maybe my eyes just need testing. I'm not sure. :D

@Sharonia don't you see the sparkles when it's clean? My eyes aren't the best lol, but I know it's clean when the shiny sparklies are out and about ? if I can't see any sparklies then I know it's time to hoover.

@Mstybl95 the waiters will clean up dishes at a restaurant as long as they can get to the trash cans and dishwasher :)

I mean, mine often get distracted and leave a pile of dishes on the floor for a few minutes, but they do get back to it. Keeping sims weird...

I agree! It's not the dust that entirely bothers me... it's the ridiculous dust bunnies... this kit would've been perfect if not for them!

(yes, I know it was something included in the kit prior to buying it, but I just wish we could have the option to turn them off without using mods)

Honestly, I think the dust bunnies were just a really unnecessary thing to add.

I think they added them because they were afraid a dust system by itself wouldn't be appealing, so they had to force some sort of "quirky" gameplay garbage mechanic in there to make it seem more worthwhile to players. It does the exact opposite to me, because I'd rather just have the realism. Or give me an option to turn off the bunnies. I think they are cute to play with maybe once and that's it...kind of wish we had actual real bunnies instead :\

Oh yeah, I know they do, but my families usually clean up after themselves and everyone else before the waitstaff gets to it.

@Sigzy05 @Lustianicia I'm positive there are people who only bought the kit because the dust bunnies are so cute-looking. Tbh that was the only thing that made me, for a very brief moment, wonder if I wanted to get it. Than I decided RL dust (and laundry) was enough dust (and laundry) for me.

I ignore my RL dust and laundry, but my sims house is pristine! ?
