Why do you play Sims?

To reduce my anxiety and it also helps my mental health.

I recently learned how to enjoy the game and try different features that I've never used or ignored.

I play to escape from life
Too many things have been happening in my life. I have had cancer 3 times we had a house fire that took my top floor and my husband has terminal brain cancer and I am his care giver. He is passing before my eyes and I cannot control that. However in the Sims I can control their lives and their deaths. It is pretty easy to forget your troubles,while you play.

Because I love designing homes and Sims, like I did with dolls as a child. This is the computer version of dolls and Iblove it just as much.

Sometimes it's better to be somebody else.

Honestly, it's because with the Sims you can do things you wouldn't, couldn't, or shouldn't do in real life, but you can in the game because it's just a game. Also because I have a vivid imagination so for me it becomes a story playing out (several stories really). And of course there's the creative aspect involved in making over sims, designing and decorating houses, so, yeah.....lots of entertainment!

Oh, and I love the genetics feature....so much fun seeing how different (or similar) each offspring looks!

Hoping some day i get idea for Sims Series-Movie to make

I love to be creative and decide where the storyline of a game is heading while I play it. I can made up my own stories and play the game in a thousand different ways. It does not have a predetermined story line but give you endless possibilities. I love that.

I play it because it seems unlikely that I will ever experience many of the awesome life events that sims have in real life. I will probably never get married, have kids, raise a family, be close with my siblings, own a store, fulfill my life ambitions etc. in my real life. This game allows me to experience the things that I am missing and have missed in my life. It might sound dark, but its true. B)

If I were a member of The Sims team reading this I would be feeling quite humbled to see the way the game has affected so many people's lives for the better. In my case, I have always been fascinated by dolls' houses and miniature things, so I love that aspect of it. Mainly, though, I play to escape real life for a while and try to forget all my anxieties and problems while my Sims do all the stuff I would love to have had the chance to do but never achieved much of. I used to love RPG's (and still do dip into Skyrim occasionally), but I get sick of all the killing. My Sims are almost family to me and watching their antics makes me smile. :)

I was just discussing this at work this week.
Co-worker: Oh you're one of THOSE people. So are just kind into it or do love it? One of my friends plays.
Me: I love it. My pixilated wonders are the best things ever. I get to create worlds, lives, and little people and live out their stories. Sometimes I completely mess up their lives so they have to take a new path in life and sometimes they have a traditional families. Right now I have a legacy where all the men are having the babies and raising them.
Co-worker: That's not traditional.
Me: Don't judge. It's perfectly normal in my Sims little world.

I simply play because I can. It's fun for me. I play to create. I play to tell stories. I play to decorate. I play to build. I play to escape. I play for the community.
