Why does almost every pack want to kill my sims?

Mermaids can drown you? News to me, Ive been trying to actively drown other sims as a mermaid since the pack dropped! Cant accomplish it without tearing my hair out and resorting to pools with walls. And I do like that new packs tend to incorporate new deaths. I want my sims lives to be risky.
