Why does everybody hate the idea of multiplayer in TS5?

I'm confused.. everybody seems to be turned off by the potential of TS5 being multiplayer, and I'm not really sure why. Think of how fun it would be to visit your friends towns/worlds, interact with t...

I'm an old time Simmer and probably in the minority but I have *always* wanted a multiplayer feature for The Sims. Not the Online, "anyone can come and mess up my game" type of deal, but being able to play with your friends would really be awesome.

Now, I think there are other approaches future Sims games could take outside of multiplayer but I wouldn't mind it - if done properly. And by properly I mean more like Animal Crossing and Minecraft vs The Sims Online and WoW.
