Why does everyone hate city living?

You can use manage neighborhoods and just move the Sims you don't like out, make them homeless - and then place Sims in the apts with names you prefer.

I don't hate it. It's just not that interesting. I do play sims there at times. The festivals are mildly interesting.

Although, I'm determined that one of my sims is eventually going to learn every dish at ALL the food stalls.

For me personally, city living introduces lot of ugly random sims and their hideous choice of clothing, it's not diverse if everytime townie is generated is either named watanabe or srinivasan, and they all look the same to me, i never once met randomly generated townie to be either chinese descent, it's always either of those 2.

MCCC makes that easier. I usually tag those guys as no pregnancy so they don't reproduce. Add in a few asian sims or manually give Lily Feng an asian girlfriend or boyfriend and the story progression, asians usually start popping up.

Updating modded hairs for general use works good also. I used sims4studio to alter my hair mods for general use, now all new sims pop in with modded hair. Looks very good.

I don't hate CL, but I will admit it is not one of my favourite EPs, but then I am more of a country than a city girl. I like the world, singing skill, careers, festivals and CAS / build items. I also like the option of apartment living when I have a household better suited to the city lifestyle. However, I'm not too keen on how many of my townies since have had names I cannot even pronounce. Don't get me wrong, variety is good, but only if it is varied and doesn't feel more like overkill. Also those horrible festival outfits really upset me lol.

That's why I tag ugly ones as "no pregnancy". Give Lily Feng an asian husband or wife and MCCC does the rest. Place a few others around and once they start breeding, asians start popping up all over.

Taking them from the Gallery IS a lot easier. And there are a lot of good asian sims there. I usually just download and tweak them to my liking. As for Watanabe, if he bugs you that much, you could just load him into the manage households, and re-design him. Change his gender, make him nice looking. Or just delete him. I do that quite a bit. If I see a townie that's ugly or poorly designed, I don't hesitate to tweak them.

Some townies need modifying. Miko Ojo really needs a twin sister. That's usually one of the firsts I do. Get rid of Bella's husband and have Bella raise the kids on her own. Never liked Mortimer much. Vanessa Jeong looks simply adorable in a ponytail, the colorful one from the same pack.

I have a custom Global Superstar modeled after Yvonne Strahovski that I put in all my worlds too. Keep expecting her to show up on the Movie set lot but she never does. I'll have to figure out how to do that. I want her as my co-star.

Designing the world to my tastes is the most fun.

I love CL. The only drawback is the festival outfits that I find my sims randomly wearing. I guess they are trigged by sims not played being at festivals. I wish I could set what festivals each sim might attend, because seeing them in outfits I never chose for them is constantly breaking the illusion of who my sims are. Especially my super conservative or extremely poor sims would never ever buy those costumes. I hate entering their homes finding them in outfits that are totally wrong for the game I'm playing, outfits that I can't even customize. Why can't we simply assign festivals to each sim in the simology panel, YA and up? Teens might flock to festivals and wear silly stuff without really putting too much into it, while grown ups should not.

I don't think every one does. Just like all the other packs - some players prefer one over the others and vice versa. I even see a good number who state CL is their favorite. I suppose it depends on who you are asking. The only pack I see a lot of hate for is MFP and even though I disagree with the reasons I hear people stating why, hate is a very strong word for something no one forces us to buy. Also I disagree with the attacks on the devs for making it and the assumptions given.

I don't hate it, but it can feel shallow really fast like most sims 4 packs... I have to use twice as much imagination to keep it interesting. I can only play in shorter bursts as well. World was beautiful, raccoons surprised me, I liked the trait lots. Festivals can feel boring pretty fast though and repetitive. I wish we had small apartments like duplexes eventually, not always downtown areas with high rises...
