Other than the Sims/household inventories, you might want to consider deleting the in-game notification. Other than that, try to delete the game cache (you can find it in the EA folder). If you play the game online & browsing through the gallery, it will create more & more cache. That’s also the reason why I prefer to play offline.
I won’t recommend to repair (although I do that everytime before I play) because some players encountered issues when they repaired the game. Yet, it works very well for me.
If you have a great specs machine, sometimes, it’s just depends on the lot sizes & the worlds. You might want to check your FPS too.
