Why Doesn't Maxis Care About the Baby Sims?

As much as I would like babies to be sims and not objects, I personally don't see it happening. There is really no incentive for them to improve babies as there would be no profit to them unless they released a "baby stuff pack" which would outrage most players, myself included, who believe we should not have to pay extra for something that should be a base game feature.
