Why Doesn't Maxis Care About the Baby Sims?

When they said they were going back to their roots, I never expected they would go all the way back to a crib baby like in TS1. lol Especially since TS3 had even more interactions and objects for the babies. I thought since we had come that far they would have been even better with each iteration as an advancement. It's like going back to TS1 and kids not aging after seeing how advanced the game became over the years. :(
