Why don't vampire autonomously drink inventory items?

Recently noticed when i started having two vampires in household, that despite beeing really low on thirst my vampire didn't drink any the plasma packs or plasma fruits in the inventory. Instead just ...

Yes they definitely should be drinking plasma packs from their inventory. I'm not sure I've ever seen one autonomously eat a plasma fruit from inventory, but I always keep a couple of plasma packs for them and they do go for that.
