I wonder myself how the game will spawn students, and if they will be random sims with a trait like "university student" like other sims for specific worlds(I think sulani sims have a hidden trait called sulani resident or something), or if they will actually be students who are attending classes. If they are not actually students, then they will have no reason to leave the lots and that could explain why no one would be walking around.
I think the first part is exactly what happens.
About the second part, I really hope that's not how it works. I want students to actually go to class, to have the interaction to ask what degree are they doing and stuff. It will feel completely lifeless if the other students are just random townies that are not actually enrolled in uni.
