It is annoying when they do things like that. It’s not just limited to the welcome wagon though. My sims adopted a dog and the sim doing the pet evaluation immediately went for a shower and then went to bed!
Visiting sims don’t seem to behave like visiting sims previously, visitors feel free to use your shower, help themselves to what’s in the fridge, use the computer and they are all obsessed with taking out the garbage!
