Why is there so little wallpaper and flooring in the game even in the expansions?

I've recently been interacting with The Sims 3, and I've noticed that in addition to the color wheel, each expansion in the game adds many options for wallpaper and floors. Why in The Sims 4, despite the many expansions, do we have so few options? It seems to me that wallpapers and floors require much less work than brand new furniture. Surprisingly Spa Day Game Pack is one of the strongest packs in this category still today.

  • I have not used in a long time Simsrocuted Behr walls paint and really liked it;https://sims4updates.net/build-mode/behr-walls-at-simsrocuted/

The colors are classic, neutral, and a colormania. Really looks great in the builds.
  • CC is always a nice addition but keep in mind that we, clonsole players have no access to them. It would be awesome to have another collaboration with CC creators such as Peacemaker_Ic who does amazing CC textures!

Thank you very much Simmerville. Next time I open my game I will happily grab them. Are they difficult to make?

They are not impossible to create, but I found it was too time consuming, so I rather grabbed a few that others had made to save my time for gaming :) You will need to make patterns seamless, but the extra is that with TS4 we have 3 wall heights, so you should actually do that job 3 times for a good result. If only for your own game you can of course make only the height you normally use.

@Simmerville Thank you for the explanation. It does look time consuming. I think I will continue to grag what others have had the courage to make.
  • After the ceilings patch I miss one additional thing. Solid ceilings/flooring options. I mean literally something we had orginally but with the colour variants.
  • I think we have options, but we still need basic stuff. Especially bathroom/kitchen half-tiled walls, we barely have any.

Those they added when they added Muslim inspired stuff to the basegame are good, but they ALL have patterns. If only they had given us a few plain colors with white tiles, I’d be using them all the time.

Also basic, medium sized floor tiles like the beige basegame linoleum (that still only has one swatch!!) would be nice.
  • I use so much CC for wallpapers and floors.

It's really annoying that sometimes, with a new release, we might get one or two new wallpapers/floors, but thats it!
  • I'm always astounded by how little there is in terms of carpet. Not only is there not a lot of patterns, but also not many colors.

I have some CC flooring but it's mostly oversaturated compared to the other stuff in the game so I don't like to use it much. (and of course, not an option for console!)

Not to mention the linoleum section - there's, what, 5 patterns and they have like 3 colors each??

I tried and failed to start converting Sims 1 flooring to Sims 4. It's hard!
  • Now that we've been given a ton of new swatches for wood and brick floors.... linoleum, carpet, and half-tiled bathroom/kitchen walls with matching tile floors seem to be the categories that are still desperately lacking.

I squealed with delight when we got those retro subway-tiled walls in the high school pack, I use them everywhere but there's only a limited number of swatches to work with.

A kit that's nothing but walls and floors in all the different categories would be a very welcome addition to the game! I'd practically throw my wallet at EA/Maxis for such a kit. :D

Yes a wall and floor kit would be great!
