Why is there still only 3 trait slots?

I enjoyed picking traits and favorite colors, music, and food in the Sims3. I feel that Sims4 is lacking in traits and some are not available that are in the game. For example, I wish traits like alluring and the great kisser wasn't in the awards area, because by the time my sim gets over 4,000 points, I either am not playing that game, forgot where I wanted to go with it, or new content came and I don't care anymore. We need more traits and the ones in the rewards where we can pick them easily at the beginning of a game.

I would love to pick more traits, plus be able to pick fav color, food, drink, music, and turn on and offs. The way it is now, I don't feel in control of the game and I can't create the story I want right from the get go.
