I would love more trait slots if the traits actually did anything. They're all built around the mood system. The traits in 3 were much more impactful and actually changed the sim's behavior in meaningful ways.
A Neat, Neurotic, Perfectionist sim would want to constantly check the stove and sink for fear of fire or flood, would peep into people's windows, obsessively bathe and wash their hands even at full hygiene, and would mop puddles from the grass even at the park. Can't build a sim like that in 4.
One of the funniest memories I had playing sims 3 was when I first installed the university expansion. The mascot was an inappropriate, flirty, and mean-spirited woman who kept spamming heat of the moment kiss on my sim after every single interaction immediately after they met. She lowered their relationship with each attempt until it got low enough that she started fighting my sim. That kind of stuff doesn't happen in sims 4.
