Yes, we men are generally more conservative when it comes to fashion than women. Take office wear for example: For women hemlines can be up, down or in the middle. A choice of boots or shoes in a variety of heel heights. Blouse or sweater or lightweight top worn under a jacket which may have long or short sleeves. And then it's a choice between skirts, dresses or pants. And pants can be straight legged, flared or tapered. Hosiery is optional or compulsory depending on the work dress code and it can be any colour or pattern...or plain.
For men…it's a business suit and tie. That's it. Maybe a jacket is optional. But the male business suit has endured, in its basic form, since the 1920s.
For any of you males who are in a relationship with a woman...compare the size of your wardrobe with the size of hers. Chances are she has way more than you do. Not always the case but it's the norm rather than the exception.
I have struggled to find some items of male cc for The Sims that I would like to see: A turtleneck sweater instead of a shirt worn under a jacket. A sixties style Nehru jacket or a white cricket/tennis sweater are examples. Oh, and more plain clothing without slogans or fancy patterns on them, creators. I think I've just made a case for more Preppy looks for men!
I don't use CAS CC (yet -- may take the plunge in a few years when the game is done and I have a computer that can handle a few GBs of content), but maybe if University is forthcoming we can see more of the Preppy look added to the game -- then CC makers will have resources for recolors and such. I find myself reusing the same items over and over -- the polo shirt that tucks into pants from Perfect Patio is my favorite because that's the style my husband prefers, he only wears shirts tucked out if it's really hot outside. (I wouldn't mind seeing some regular T-shirts that tuck into pants as well.)
