March 6 2026 hmmm... I played Vanilla for years and still encountered bugs but didn't report. In 2025 I was having more bugs than ever before and decided to screenshot whenever I had a bug that impacted my play, then reviewed the pics when I had time. Most I could ignore or it got a fix without my input.
Then, my legacy families experienced flirting between close family members. (no mods; no cc)
I couldn't stay silent. It was destroying everything I was trying to build. And, it was creepy. I reported it. I explained as succinctly as possible how the parents, step-parents and uncles/aunts were autonomously flirting with the now adult children. The half sisters even had a romance bar! And - nothing.
Something snapped in me. I decided to hold back no longer. If I love this game and want it to work then I need to participate. Here's what I do on bug reporting:
- Screenshot any bug event for proof. Helps me remember the details or see things I may have missed in the moment.
- Date my report or comment under an existing report. Brings my awareness to how long it is ongoing and how many times it is happening during a time period.
- PC / No mods / No CC or whatever applies - include the details so they don't have to ask. I forget to do this sometimes.
- No wall of text. Try to make it easy to read and understand. Action words. "Tried X. Failed" Use list and bullet. Include pics / screenshots.
- Upvote reports. Upvote other's good comments that are also having the same issues as I am. As I visited the site more often I noticed so many reports with 0 upvote or no acknowledgement. Support each other and increase involvement on the topic.
- Reply respectfully and honestly to requests. I will test if I can. I will also say "No." if I cannot. This is a multi-billion dollar corporation and we are their paying customers. Troubleshooting their product is part of their business. I can provide data about my game experience but repairs come from EA.
- I link Redditors to EA bug reports whenever I can. EA seems to repair based on the most Upvotes. Reddit can be a good source of info tho. I have found help there when EA was silent.
The bug reporting can be disheartening. I discovered a few threads I enjoy in General Discussion and occasionally share joyful pics and comments there.
