Why KWS

Why am I receiving an email from [edit: email address removed] telling me to take action on my child's account? The link is sending me to Kid Web Services site and asking me for the last 4 of my social OR a credit card number? Is this legit because it seems very fishy.  It feels like a phishing attempt but I want to be sure.
Thanks in advance!

Since the link does go to ea.com you know that it is not suspect and you have confirmed that EA does indeed use this service. Whether or not you want to use KWS to protect the child account is entirely up to you. At least now you know what the consequence will be so you can prepare for that.

BTW. To check the sender look at the Internet headers. How you do that depends on the email client you use.

  • @angelluv5683 Thanks for your response. My immediate thought to emails like these are they're scams. My child's games are still working so I'll disregard them in the future as well.

It’s smart to be cautious! KWS is legit for parental consent, but avoid clicking the link. Instead, contact the service directly to verify. Never share sensitive info unless you're sure.
