I had my Sims visit a neighbours lot, another of my Sims families, and before they knocked on the door to visit I was notified of a fire on the lot. I looked in the window to see my other (currently unplayaled) Sim on fire in front of the fireplace! I had to Kock on the door and put out the fire to save her life. Was pretty cool actually.
Seems like the chance of fire did go up. All in one day in my game. lol
Yikes! Wow and yeah, that was kind of cool in a yikes way.
Don't you just love the, Okay, we've got a fire but where is it? as you're hunting all over the area to see what's burning.
