Why YA and Teen cant have romantic interactions?
why is it? or why no between 2 sims than are girlfriends? How to enable it and avoid romance decay?

I was just playing, I actually minimized my game window just to re-find this thread. I had a teen couple living together in an apartment. I have teens living together alone all the time as I see them as being 17-19 years old. I aged the teen male to YA, figuring I would give it some time before I age my female up to create a small age gap.
To get to my point, my male YA autonomously kissed my female teen. He became flirty after the kiss and the little green heart with the ++ showed after the kiss. It seems that it does kind of work, just with limitations.
I suppose I should mention both sims have the romantic trait and the soulmate aspiration. No mods or CC.
