Why

Just been watching some builds and wonder why the best looking with the most color choices of beds have the lowest rating for comfort and sleep quality. I always use the same beds so my Sims wake up without aches, pains and are well rested. Can't they change the beds to all be 10 across the board ?

@GalacticGal I had the same thing happen to an expensive mattress that went into storage while i was remodeling my house. Since most of my spare cash went into renovations I was unable to go out and buy a new mattress. So I went to Walmart and bought a four inch thick memory foam mattress pad that I have been using for four years. Trust me when I say that memory foam pad was the best investment I ever made. I have never owned a mattress as comfortable as this mattress topper. And as someone with chronic back pain from an injury that happened years ago, I can honestly say I have never slept better or had less pain getting out of bed in the morning.

I'm having bed problems, too. I got a very cheap mattress eight years ago, and for the first six years, it was wonderful. Unfortunately, the 'cheap' has started to show as the springs have started to break. The memory foam topper sounds like a good short-term solution, but I'm wondering if it will work with cats? Mine like to knead the bed, and one of them eats everything, so if bits started to come out, I'd worry about him. (That's one reason I've had trouble finding a new mattress - many are now spring with gel toppers, and the cats would ruin that in no time.)
  • Back on topic, beds have been my pet peeve since The Sims. I don't mind so much if my Sims are a bit whiny about an uncomfortable bed, but I don't want them to sleep twelve hours a day just to get a full night. Watching them sleep isn't very interesting.

Devs, please stop making beds with less than a 7 rating. We have loads of crappy beds, and I can't use any of them. Frankly, I'd buy a pack just to get a good bed. (Actuallly, that's one of the reasons I bought City Living - to get the canopy bed.)
  • Here we go again.....really cool bed with newest pack but the energy, distress, and comfort suck, they don't all have to be really high but one would be nice !!!
  • There are modded beds with separate bedding. It works really well, so it would be nice to have official ones like that. I think the modded beds came with the Henry Pufferhead pack, or whatever it's called. It's a great pack!
  • I totally get what you're saying. I usually just use whatever bed fits my sims style but I make sure to have them a tub so they can take one of the soaking bath types that came with Spa Day. The muscle relaxing one will usually get rid of the sore moodlit but yeah nothing helps the energy need at all and it sucks.

I don't use mods or CC, this is something that I think should be included in the pack I paid for.

I just don't understand why they keep adding more low-rated beds to the game. We got something like five beds in this pack, and only one is usable. It seems like they could at least go for an even ratio.
  • I think they should just start all the beds out as low comfort and then you can upgrade them the way you upgrade appliances. You spend money and it would like buy a better mattress or something and make it more comfortable. This drives me nuts as well. Same with toilets and showers and stuff because sometimes I like the looks of the other ones. But the beds are the worst because the other stuff you can at least upgrade

I completely agree. I hope this can get patched in at some point.
