Will collecting water make non-off the grid sinks function on off the grid lots?

I play vanilla so can't help you about the cc sorry, but I do remember that my sim was only able to collect water from the waterfall in Sulani, not the ocean, so I guess you can only collect fresh water. Also you can collect snow in winter or if you have the wishing well you can collect water from that too. My sim was able to take bubble baths and thoughtful showers just by having the water catchers, collecting water and having the wind turbines and solar pannels, they really do make off the grid life so much easier :)
