The developers made the claim years ago that finished worlds could, in theory, be expanded... but they haven't shown any signs of even trying to do it, so I highly doubt they ever will, unfortunately.
My biggest peeve is the fact that Windenburg (or however you spell it) is, by far, the largest world... and yet, I personally hate the Old English Village theme, so it's essentially useless for me... :disappointed: We haven't gotten a world even close to its size ever since, which is highly disappointing. Why can't we get a normal world that size!?
Exactly! That is my biggest pet peeve too! Big world, fake buildings/environment we can't change! - No, they haven't even made new ones bigger. Magnolia Promenade was supposed to be an addition to Willow Creek but they were unable to do so. So instead we got a 4 lot world.
- NateWhiplashSeasoned HotshotI sure hope so. Some of them like Del Sol Valley and Glimmerbrook don't have enough residential lots. I feel like every new world should be at least as big as Willow Creek or Oasis Springs
- I voted Yes because I really hope for it. I miss placing houses and lot sizes freely around the map and create your own little neighborhood.
- No, but they don't have to keep making them smaller like the one that came with Get Famous.
- A good compromise would have been to allow the player to link as few or as many worlds together as we like. Also, to offer a variety of worlds instead of using the same types of assets over and over again. If the team is worried about files growing too large, give the players a choice of which worlds that we want to utilize per save.
Given a choice, I would have dropped Magnolia Promenade, Oasis Springs, Del Sol Valley, and Strangerville out of my lineup long ago. In place of the worlds that I don't use, I would have loved to have a choice of more beach worlds of all types, cities, mountainous regions, and worlds that are less U.S.-centric in general. My dream TS world would have residential and business districts along the walls of a fjord with twisty roads leading down to marinas and places to swim down below. "Admiral8Q;c-17613701" wrote:
@Cynna I love your ideas of fantastic worlds. I pushed it to the limit in Sim City games with terrain like that to build my cities on. :)
Aw, I would have loved to see that. :) I didn't know that landscapes like that were possible in Sim City. You've piqued my interest.
I would love it if the developers scoured the world for inspiration and used their imaginations more.- ChampandGirlieNew Spectator

What would be a suitable idea for both dev and gamer is to create a world which is a travel hub.
Whenever you travel to another world, you can choose to go this travel hub world or not.
It would be soley be amenties and restaurants etc with 15 lots to create yourself and 3 -5 auto populated to support with ideas etc
Then you get a place like real life such as a shopping mall / retail park / multi shopping centre to socialise, shop and go gym etc.
Because you travel to places like this in real life which have little / no residential places available.
It will support the type of Simmers who enjoy building or the ones who like to build characters up and stories.
E.g buying that new TV or checking out a potential partner.
???
Yes, good idea. I basically use Newcrest like that. My Newcrest is completely full now though. - I wish sims was open-world but it's small and closed. As much as I would love to see larger worlds (or even lots that were connected, as opposed to having to travel), I feel like there would probably be a lot of lag and loading issues if things were all connected.
I don't mind the travel or the lots being separate, but I do wish we had more lots to build with or we could choose the size of the lot (for example, instead of having two 20 x 15 lots in willow creek a handful of 30 x 40, maybe I'd like to have four 50 x 50 lots). I love building, but sometimes I need to bulldoze existing builds to create something new in the same area. Even though I have almost all the worlds purchased, there are still a finite number of lots in each world and eventually you just fill them all up. - Admiral8QNew SpectatorUnless I made an error, this is the size so far:
Note: I put "apartments" in with "normal" lots. For 3 worlds.
