Will genetics still work with cc hairstyles in Maxis/EA colors only?

I'm playing the 100 baby challenge, and am really tired of the limited amount of hairstyles for toddlers and children. I thought about downloading some hairstyles in Maxis/EA colors only, but would genetics still work?

Half of the fun of the 100 baby challenge is seeing what the child will look like, and what hair color it will get, so I don't want custom content to mess that up. Has anyone played with EA hair colors only and had genetics still work, and not ended up with, say, a black haired child from two blond parents?

Any tips on how to get it to work? Any particular key words in the description of the download I should look out for?

I don't know too much about custom content, toddler and child hairstyles would be the only thing I would download, because there is such a limited amount in the game, and it bothers me.

(Bonus question: If I decided to download a few outfits (for all ages), if that starts to bother me at some point, would that mess with genetics?)

  • Hair that comes in the 18 EA colours that is "maxis match", that is, it matches the clay aesthetic of the game, usually doesn't affect genetics.

So to answer your question, yes. By default, maxis match should work the way you are wanting it to with regards to inheritance and genetics.

    Outfits should not affect genetics.
