So if I understand it correctly, the game won't pick a match that you don't want. Because it only runs a check on the person you're flirting with. It doesn't pick your mate out of the whole cast of sims in your game (unless you flirt with every one of them).
Of course you could have a desired match that the game decides is not a fated mate.
I see how some people might not like that, but still, it seems like in that situation we can still have all the regular non-were close relationships including spouse and soulmate, even if the person is not the werewolf fated mate.
