It has been a super long time since I played the Sims 1 Superstar but I am pretty sure I remembered singing as a career and I want to say modeling as well. I remember using the runway. There was a recording studio for singers and the actors got movie sets. It's been so long I don't recall exactly what went on with those.

Weren’t really careers. It was just Famous Sims did a bunch of non-coherent Fame realated actions in Studio Town and that was it. Your Sims just did whatever they could to stay Famous but there really wasn’t a specific career to choose from. It was good for what it was

Right, and I think people are downplaying what we'll be able to do with singers in this pack, which (I think) is better than what we had in Superstar.

We already have singers with City Living, so it's easy to play them as an active career. Now they can be famous and make money from it. There's an open mic night where your sim can show off their talents to become a bigger star and draw bigger crowds. The way I see it, we've already got singing as a career. I do miss modeling, though because I loved it and thought the animations were hilarious.

I do really want to try to make a singer -songwriter. I'm going to use clubs and use the watch live entertainment activity somehow to organize gatherings. Should be fun :).

Watching live entertainment doesn't really work the way it should. They still have to go up on stage to watch and stand right next to the singer. I do this already in a little bar I have with a club I made up for it. I wish they would just sit in the seats at the tables in front of the stage.
