Women changing last names upon marriage?

You enter CAS (through mirror or manage households) and type in the name you want. You can change any name any time, except babies :smile:

Have you tried without the cheat lately? It used to require one, but it's been cheat free for quite long now.

I think you had to enter cas.fulleditmode right after the game was released, but didn't they fix that? I can change their name just by entering regular cas.

I also wish babies would be automatically born with their father's last name...

The game doesn't do it automatically this time around, and to be honest, no matter what they do on that particular issue, it wouldn't make everyone happy. Sometimes I want to keep the household name in a legacy, regardless of which gender the heir happens to be.

Using the "Change Sim option at any mirror or dresser will let you change any name at any time. You can even randomize them if you want to.

Some mods will sync names for married couples.

I like that it's not automatic, though I wouldn't be averse to a pop-up that asked if the wedded sims wanted to take a joint name, and if so, what name.

I'm extremely glad we have the option to choose surnames. In my game, Bob and Eliza had a son, and he took his wife's name when they married. Colin Lewis is a heck of a lot less stupid sounding than Colin Pancakes ;)

I just recently had a wedding in my game. The bride ended up with her husband's surname, when previously I would have to take her into CAS to 'edit' her name. I'm not sure when this was changed, but I was delighted.
