Idk, our family (my grandmother) we just had "tea" with kids instead of pretend. It was basically milk (with like the smallest splash of tea to warm it, and sugar) in the bonechina tea cups. I honestly think we had kids as young as 3 or 4 having "tea" with our grandmother.

I mean, she spoiled us (we miss her dearly) and even the boys/my brothers' wanted tea time. So I say innovation!
