Workaholic sim won't work extra hours

My sim got the workaholic lifestyle, but when I hover over the option for her to go to work for extra hours it says that her work time is about to start even though it doesn't start for like two days. Is this a glitch? Is there a workaround or do I need to just remove the workaholic lifestyle because now unless she's at work she's stressed.

  • I believe the problem might be that your sim is stressing out big time, or it might be that the over time is after work not before.
  • Could be the sims mood - or maybe it has to be closer to the actual work time? My workaholic sim has 9 hours before his shift, and he has the option to work extra - he's also not stressed.
  • I ended up removing the lifestyle because even with MCCC I was having a hard time keeping her from being tense.
  • I went back and added it to see if her mood would affect it and still couldn't while she was inspired, focused, or fine.

Wait, how do you remove the lifestyle? I loathe the workaholic lifestyle.
  • I had a workaholic Sim and he would go off to work, sometimes at night. I never tried to have him work longer. He would just go to work in the wee hours or on his days off.
  • Lifestyle-go-poof potion from rewards store will get rid of the workaholic lifestyle immediately. I think you can also do it gradually by having the sim take a few days off work.

I have no idea what's causing your glitch, @pegasusventrice . Does it still happen with mods removed and a new localthumbcache file? If so please consider reporting it on the bug report site at http://answers.ea.com

Edit: The one thing I can think of is that botanist is a work-from-home career. Did you by any chance select to work from home on the preceding workday, so that there are work tasks that she has to complete over the weekend? That maybe might count as still being "at work".
  • @mightysprite No never picked work from home. I will have to try it now that I've cleared my cache and see if that changes anything. I started having other issues that I found out that the cache could be causing. If it continues to be an issue without mods I will submit a bug report.

I used MCCC, but you can get a potion through the aspiration rewards store that removes lifestyles.
