Working on what could somewhat be a guide for story mode

Edit: I will be using this to update/add information. If I did it right you should be able to see it without needing a Google account.
Edit 2: A lot of progress has been made and my brain feels very fried.
Edit 3: I have some guesses for what option goes to what. The idea I am going by is that each pack stays with itself and the base game stuff. It is after that I will look for DLC stuff in the Base Game questions and DLC based stuff in other DLCs questions. Some of the guesses are out there but I am going to test them out.
I will also work on formatting. I plan on opening another document to fix the formatting and hopefully make it easier to read and copy that over to the doc linked here.

I'm trying to figure out how to get things that I want like starting skill, career, sim type, etc in the story mode so I can have the sim I want but with the job, starting funds, and skills added on. As I learn more I will edit it in and work on formatting and sorting by what the questions give.

Edit 4:
Copy and Pasted from a new topic:

I originally worked on a "guide" just for personal use and then had a thought that since I was typing it up any way I might as well share it.

I wish I knew exactly what options you would have to choose to get what aspiration, trait, skill, etc that you want. Since I didn't, for now, I have listed traits, aspirations, skills, and careers. Below all of that are the questions that appear in the quiz. You may be able to look through the questions and choose the ones that you think will work best. I decided against listing what I think they went towards since I knew I could be wrong. Maybe one day I will be able to add that in.

Also:

- How to get an occult sim is there
- Estimated Starting funds for careers
- Tips that worked for me

As is I hope it is somehow useful to you all.

I don't know if it counts or not, but...
I've got a question "how much do you like sun?". First answer is something like "I can't stand it!". I feel like it can result in vampires.

    It doesn’t, I tried.

Great idea! Bookmarked, can't wait to see what the quiz affects. For my first story sim, I wanted a party-minded sim who was a bit edgy but loved nature... and got an evil party animal conversationalist! A little edgier than I was hoping for but hey, got what I wanted!

Revisiting this comment, and the majority of my story sims are some combination of "evil" + "loves the outdoors" + "conservationist". I've started avoiding outdoorsy or "sketchy" answers because of it. I made a sim using only the bottom answers, and she's another evil conservationist for crying out loud ?

Is my game trying to tell me something? I'm scared :s
  • What you might need is input from Simmers on what selection of questions and answers end up with all the traits. I got one I want to repeat but forgot what I was asked and answered to get it. I got a Conservationist career out of it though with a veterinary skill and love of dogs but not enough cash to buy a clinic. :/

I'm still somewhat working around that myself xD.
I tried to get a "hot-headed" trait for one sim but the game kept giving me "mean" instead. Not sure what question got it for me but I do know I had to try several times for it changing up the order some questions were answered in.
  • I have followed your formula and I have noticed the order doesn’t seem to fully matter. As an example I’ve noticed any base game career will take precedent over the get to work careers. The trick is to find out which questions are solely career oriented. As an example I discovered the pizza question is for the detective career however I’ll often end up with the astronaut career instead as I selected one of its questions beforehand.

The other problem with this formula is some questions are both traits and aspirations. I haven’t been able to unlock the strangerville aspiration using this formula and seem to only get the paranoid trait. I don’t know if any of this information helps.

The get to work questions are pretty straight forward it’s trying to find out which questions -not- to ask to accidentally not override their careers.
