Basically, if The Sims team had some kind of "creator's contest" or showcase of sorts for custom content, and they chose what CC pack they wanted to put into a patch or an official pack, then I'd be interested. Ultimately I'd prefer if it's taken into the hands of the devs and refined and tested by them!
However, if that's not the case, I would not purchase CC packs for a few reasons:
-Items may not match the look of The Sims, which to me personally is important
-They may not FUNCTION properly in-game! Which is even more important lol
-They could break after patches or new packs are installed
-I would not want to rely on the creator to update their pack when things go wrong; Even if this person or team was paid every time a sale was made, they are most likely not making their living off of just this. That being said, they may not always have the time or resources to continuously update their product because... well, life happens! I would not expect them to drop everything they have going on just because their pack has some new issues or whatever, but then there's unusable content in the game that I purchased and but cannot enjoy.
-Isn't it against the rules to sell CC anyway? I guess maybe in this scenario that's not the case, but I read somewhere on the forum that creators are not allowed to profit from their work - which I will not go into whether or not I agree with this. It could also be total BS, I literally can't give you a source where I think I might have read this lol
(All of the above is really just about CAS and Build/Buy items, not mods... I don't think I'd ever buy a mod)
Overall, if it went into the hands of The Sims team before being sold to us as an official EA pack or included for free via patch, I probably would look into it. If not, I will politely go without :)
