I'm on the fence about this one.
Me, too. I didn't buy Perfect Patio because a hot tub wasn't something I really wanted, but that's beside the point. It's sort of the big item in the pack. There is a difference between giving away a few hair styles or clothing items and giving away the reason a lot of people bought the pack. On the other hand, we've sort of tied their hands to the point that we won't get things we'd like to have. I'd like more swatches for DLC items, but the only way to do that is to either give the items away in a free pack with the new swatches or charge for a new pack that includes recolours of items I already paid for. (Or, offer an add-on pack that gives more style choices for a game-play item, but you need the first pack in order for those style choices to work.)
They've done all these things, with massive backlash from parts of the community. Want apartments in every world? Not likely, unless they either patch them in ('But I paid for City Living!'), release a supplementary pack ('DLC for DLC!') or include them with another pack ('So, I paid $40 for City Living, and now you want me to pay another $40 for a pack just to get apartments in every world?'). The same goes for a lot of game improvements we'd like. They can't win. (Personally, I think the best solution for a game-play item is to offer a $10 stuff pack - yes, like MFP - that expands the item. Probably not worth it for something like hot tubs, but for a big item, like a life state or something that changes the world, I'd gladly pay an extra $10 to improve it.)
