Ok, so all the Sim YouTubers I follow have done all the town walkthroughs and catalog look at stuff today. But now I can't decide if I want it to be a surprise or if I should watch the videos? I'm so excited for this pack and feel like I can't wait much longer but at the same time I sort of want to experience everything for the first time myself not watching someone walk me through all the new stuff. But at the same time, I sort of do. So, I don't know. What would you guys do? Wait or watch the videos now?

I will watch as much as I can, because I want to know things before I play to avoid huge mistakes and waste my time trying to fix them later. Sometimes there are things that can't be found if you don't even know they exist. I usually watch only DrGluon and sometimes James Turner on YouTube because they concentrate on fun (DrGluon) and gameplay (both) and not obsess about how pretty their Sims are, but when new packs are being released I usually watch a lot of others as well. I just skip on the parts that are not interesting to me.

I personally only ever watch the official stream unless I'm not quite sure about something but in all honesty I'd rather read an article than watch a video. If you want to see it for yourself, I'd avoid watching too many videos. I'm probably going to wait until it goes on sale so there will be more info then anyway.

Well, I won't go into any spoilers (even if I had any), but after watching one YouTube video that only showed CAS and the new items I was surprised at how much was added. No clue what the game play is like though.For me personally, I watch videos before buying. There have only been a handful of games or DLCs I've ever preordered, I want to know what I'm getting for my money so I don't buy blindly. I never get caught up in the hype, I want to see exactly what I am buying. There have been too many times in the past when I've bought something only to realize that for the money spent it just wasn't worth it.But that is an individual decision, what works for me may not work for you. If you are 100% positive you are going to buy, then I'd say don't watch anything and explore the content for yourself before watching any videos.

I want to know as much as possible beforehand. I remember when Prima game guides were a thing and I'd purchase them and read cover to cover before playing the game.

Same here! I still have them all and they are still essential references after all these many years of TS2 play. Same goes for the guides for TS1. I even have most of those for TS3 and the one for TS4 base game when it was released. Those books are absolute gold & I wish they existed for TS4.

As for the videos question, I want every scrap of information I can get. TS4 packs can be like a minefield, and I'd rather learn from those who have already gone in than find out the hard way.

I don't want to be all excited to get the game only to find disappointments.
By the time I do get the game, I've already thought of things to make the disappointments less disappointing.

Plus there is information I need to know in order to prepare my game and get some things done ahead of time, so I don't have the do them when I get the game.

I would watch to avoid disappointments or potentially paying for something you do not want.
Some streamers have dedicated CAS and build previous and also gameplay streams, so you can focus on what you want and avoid spoilers for other areas.

I like to watch the videos so I can learn about the new game features and map overview. When there's a new pack coming out. I'm less likely to just watch people play the game if they aren't giving me information but just roleplaying. I enjoy watching storytelling videos but that's not what I look for when a new pack is release.

I watched the Live Stream, so I have no need to watch anymore videos. I got the answer to a question I had, that many of us had. So, I'm going to wait.
