Don't think so. I was stunned when I saw the price as well but the real money is made with the expansion, stuff and game packs. It is a good was to suck new players in.

What's the difference between the base and the base deluxe? And I've seen in some packs that both are sold together. Is there a reason to have both? Brand newbie here! I've never really been interested in Sims but I've been brought over by LaurenZside's Youtube videos, haha.

If you have the base game version that also contains digital deluxe, you don’t need to have the version that only contains the base game.
